Cycle Kingston

Cycle kingston provides safe cycling education to children youth and adults in kingston Ontario. This is delivered throughout the summer by cycling ambassadors - summer students - who organize and deliver safe cycling programs by in-school presentations in may and june and other activities in july and august including safe cycling summer day camps 'savvy cycling' courses community rides and more. They also operate social media and model safe cycling behaviours. Volunteers from cycle kingston organize annual cycling week celebrations in early june incorporating activities organized by partners such as the city of kingston sustainable kingston queen's university st lawrence college kingston police and other groups. Cycle kingston operates two social enterprises: 'gear up! Recycled bicycles' hires under-employed youth to repair donated used bicycles that are sold at affordable prices to populations requiring inexpensive transportation like new immigrants and students. 'bicycle valet kingston' provides free secure bicycle parking at community festivals and events to encourage active transportation reduce parking congestion and reduce climate change impact.
